Our Cast...

Sahr Abu

Originally from Sierre Leone, West Africa, Sahr is a 3rd year student in Agricultural Science at Delaware State University.He's no stranger to the stage, having been a member of the Young Shakespeare Players Theatre Group in Chicago. He was also a member of the Chicago Baha'i Youth Workshop, a group that performed thoughout the midwest. He performed in the Spring Shakespeare Festival at the Chicago High School for Agriculture Sciences in 1997. His hobbies are reading, writing, acting, listening to and playing music, and watching films.

Jolene Anderson

Jolene is a senior at Dover High where she is involved in many organizations such as Chorus, Select Ensemble, Women's Choir, Band, Colonial flags, VPAG, Executive Student Council, Read-a-Loud Delaware, Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Honor Society, and the Ambassadors program. Jolene has been singing, dancing and acting since the age of four. She has enjoyed performing with such groups as Act I Players, Kent County Theatre Guild, DonDel Chilcren's Theatre and especially the Community Singers. After graduation, she plans to major in musical theate in college and pursue a professional acting career. She would like to thank her Mother, Father and brother Jason for always supporting her.

Timothy L. Cannon

Timothy has lived in New Jersey, Japan and California. At the age of seven he toured Southern California with the Summer Honors Program, playing Kurt Von Trapp in The Sound of Music. Since then, he has had various leading and supporting vocal, dancing and acting roles in a slew of productions including Brigadoon, Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma, Diary of Anne Frank, and Gypsy, to name a few. Timothy has been a member of the performance troupe Center Stage, and was extended an invitation to join the California-based troupe Young Americans. However, he decided to finish his college education before embarking on a theatrical career. This December, Timothy will graduate from Delaware State University with B.A. in General Music and a B.S in Business Administration.

Timothy would like to express his love and thanks to God for the great gifts and talents He has bestowed upon him; his parents and relatives for their support throughout the years; Kristen, for putting up with him; and his fellow cast members.

Patty Schramm~DeEsch

Patty is returning to the stage after several years with her first Community Singers Production. Patty has performed at Universal Studios Florida, Walt Disney World, and as a soloist with E.S.A.'s European Tour. Patty has been in various other shows over her performing career such as Grease, Some Enchanted Evening, Bye, Bye Birdie, Carousel and Snow White. Patty performed in and co-wrote a season for W.C.U.'s Children's Theatre Touring group as well as choreographed various numbers at WPHS. Patty has worn various hats in numerous productions backstage as well, including stage manager for A Streetcar Named Desire.

The production Patty is most proud of is her two-year-old daughter Kayla Destiny. Patty's performance in GODSPELL is dedicated to the memory of her sister and best friend Debbie Faubel who tragically passed away on September 6th.

Stephen Hailey

Stephen has been a theatre performer and musician almost forever. He performed throughout high school and college; formed a band and toured internationally and sang at several Baha'i International conferences. He has appeared in productions with Dineh Little Theatre on the Navajo Reservation, in Virginia Beach and with Tred Avon Players, Chesapeake Performing Arts Center and Churchill Theatre, as well as many others. He has been an accent coach and has helped direct high school productions. He is currently co-coordinator of the Delmarva Baha'i Youth Arts Workshop, a multimedia performing troupe of diverse youth. Steve also models and has done TV ads for The Centre at Salisbury. This is Steve's debut with The Community Singers, but he has been in three stage performances of Godspell.

Valorie Hailey

Valorie is a full-time student at Delaware State University in Mass Communications. She has appeared in a variety of productions, including Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Working, Tommy, Our Town and The Sound of Music. She loves music, and has been involved in several choral groups - the Abendmusiken Singers, Chesapeake College Gospel Choir and the Delmarva Baha'i Choir. This is Valorie's first theatre production in Delaware.

Linda Hyler

Linda studied Theatre Arts at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI and London England. She has a varied background in theatre including acting, singing, dancing, costuming, set design, lighting and stage managing. She performed in Anything Goes, Stop the World I Want to Get Off, Cabaret, Bye Bye Birdie and Hello Dolly. She spent over eight years in the U.S. Navy, where she was a member of the USS Yellowstone Band and performed in Europe, and won many talent contests including the All Navy talent contest in San Francisco.

Outside the theatre she's a junior accountant for Sunroc Corporation and treasurer for both the Magnolia Methodist Church and The Community Singers.

Debbie Anderson

No stranger to the Dover stage, Debbie has directed the Community Singers' Halloween show for seven years. This is her first time directing a full musical. She has performed with the Kent County Theatre Guild as well as the Community Singers. She has been in Cinderella, Desert Song, You Can't Take It With You, Gypsy and numerous other productions.

Kristen Lanouette

Kristen is a senior at the University of Delaware, majoring in Music Education. After graduation she plans to pursue a career teaching high school choir. Kristen has performed in many Community Singers' productions, beginning with her role of Birgitta in The Sound of Music. She is currently in the University of Delaware Chorale and a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota women's music fraternity. In her free time, she volunteers at schools, helping with their music programs. This is Kristen's first time as musical director/choreographer.
